CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA
Cartagena-ATAP Youth bonding and spending time with girls from Colombia (South America). Although there was a language barrier, the girls were able to communicate and connect. They shared daily the experiences (similarities and differences), discussed goals, teenage girl issues, and how the cultures are different yet the same. Afterwards they taught each other songs and dances popular to their respective countries/cultures. They all learned to play jacks and ball, as ATAP participants were new to this American past time game. ATAP also donated items to one of the local community centers.
